Welcome! I'm Madeline, the mama around here. Guess you'd like to know a few things about me:
I try my best to live my life for my savior, Jesus Christ.
I'm married to Stephan, the best husband ever.
I'm a mama to two beautiful children with a third on the way. Levi is four and Sophia is one. Our newest bundle of joy is scheduled to arrive in late June. We are beside ourselves with excitement!
Levi was born with loads of unnecessary interventions, including a c-section. His birth story is in three parts: here, here, and here.
Sophia's birth was a planned HBAC (Home Birth After Cesarean). You can read her birth story here.
We are thrilled to be planning a second homebirth for baby #3!
We unschool our littles and are loving seeing how naturally they learn.
I am an avid maker of things. I knit, crochet, sew, and of course wield a hot glue gun every now and again.
Also, I am a terrible housekeeper...just ask my husband. The man is a saint. He has never ending patience with my flaws.
A little history: In 2007 I graduated with a degree in art. I was 26 years old, and I was 3 months pregnant with Levi. His dad left a couple of weeks before graduation. We began divorce proceedings after Levi was born. Thankfully, I had an incredible family who helped me in so many ways during that time. Despite being marred by divorce, the two years that followed were beautiful to say the least. Levi and I lived next door to my parents on a 40 acre farm. We had so many wonderful adventures together. During that time I also befriended the man who would eventually become my husband. You can read more about our love story here. In February of 2010 we got hitched. (More about that here). We've been having incredible adventures ever since.
A peek into the future: We have plans to put our house on the market next year. We'd like to build a house in the country near my parents. In between selling and building we'll be living in the little house that Levi and I lived in when Stephan and I met. We also plan on having a couple more kids down the road. They're pretty fabulous in our opinions, and we'd love a biggish family.
